Antonia Album Cover Shoot

This shoot was for an album cover for gospel singer Antonia Wilson with Godchild Records. The shoot went great and working with Antonia was nice...she had good energy with her looks and facial expressions- like this one. Another look we did of her was a retro look of her in a cool 1940's type outfit. One of these from the shoot will be for her album cover and the others will probably line the cd, and as soon as that image is picked, i will have it in the portfolio...stay tuned for the album cover!

Stephen Strang

This was a shoot I recently did in Orlando for Stephen Strang and some of his Editor's for Strang Communications. They publish many Christian magazines, the most widely known of those being Charisma magazine. Stephen is a very known and respected individual in the Christian community who has let God work through him to affect millions around the world through his publicataions. The main goal of this shoot was to get some more informal and lifestyle type shots...we also threw in a few "character" type shots in there such as this one. This is just one of my favorites from the shoot, but there were many more relaxed shots that are great. I will blog one of those soon. I'm sure I will have one in my portfolio from this shoot soon too.

A Day at the Beach

This is one of the shots I did for "Day At The Beach" photo contest shoot. I shot this and experimented with full HDR. I was really happy with the way the shoot came out. I had different guy and girl models come together for this shoot. It happen to be really overcast and rainy that day, but it actually made for a really cool effect when shooting this way. In simple layman terms: HDR is High Dynamic Range. The ability to take a series of different exposures of the same scene and combining them in post processing so basically all the image is properly exposed. So I am going to keep experimenting and growing in shooting HDR because it produces a very distinguishable look that I love. Let me know what you think.

Stephen Ward in Studio

Stephen Ward is a great kid that I met in a Starbucks in the Salt Lake City airport several months ago. A little while after I got home, his mother Debbie called our studio to talk about getting some photos done of Stephen. So after some conversations, Debbie and Stephen flew to South Florida from their home town in Idaho and spent a little over a week with us during one of the hottest, most humid weeks of our summer. (It was seriously miserably hot. You have no idea.)

All of us here made an instant connection with Stephen and Debbie. It was obvious to all of us that there was more us meeting them than just the photoshoot..too much to describe in this blog....but it just shows how God has orchestrated plans we have no clue about. At the end of their week, they ended up extending their stay so Stephen could play guitar with my worship band at church. We had an awesome time with them and can't wait to visit with them again.

Recent Shoot with Model Alex Dimov

This was a recent shoot with Alex Dimov, an aspirining model from Bulgaria looking to get signed with a major modeling agency here in the USA. He came to me to help launch him into his modeling career with some solid images for his portfolio. He is now speaking with some major agencies in Miami.

S. Florida Christian Jazz Artist

This shoot was for Herb Conway, an experienced Jazz player releasing his first project on his own titled "Start the Fire". It's cool to hear of a Christian Jazz artist...that's good too! I've listened to his tracks myself and they are quite impressive...in fact they are "regulars" on my iTunes. In this shoot, Herb wanted a classic look with a focus on his guitar in the shots, so we shot this in studio using some natural light and some unique angles to achieve the look he was looking for. This is one of the shots that will go into his CD insert for the album that our design department (www.aslan-studios.com/print/) is currently designing. Herb was a great guy to shoot, and we hope the best for his new project.

Shooting Local TV Personality

This is from the shoot with Alicia Gentile, a local TV host/VJ from South Florida that is just getting launched into television sets across the country. Alicia came to me needing to get some new headshots done in a "L.A headshot" style. She has just finished working for NBC, and is now on to hosting her first major show called "The Gun Girls" for Guns America. Alicia doesn't seem like a "gun girl", but i guess that is the very reason they picked her...they wanted a girl that girls can relate too! We hope her the best in her adventures and look forward to working with her again.

Gospel Artist Duane Manns

This shoot was for our now good friends over at So Alive Music in Maryland...they came to us originally for a different purpose - for Aslan to do two websites - one for the label and one for their artist. These 2 gentlemen decided they were going to start a record company called So Alive Music and would be launching Duane Manns, their worship leader of their church, as their first artist.

So in the meanwhile of talking about the websites, Patrick had told them that I did commercial photography, and about my background in the record industry, and they decided to come down to our studio in West Palm for a shoot. We ended up doing the shoot and it was a big hit, and we got some great shots out of it for the Album Cover and insert. We also ended up doing all the design for the marketing materials for them which is always fun for us since it allows us to brand an IMAGE for the artist from their label...from album to every marketing piece they have out. The image that they went with for the album cover is in my portfolio on the site right now. I really like how the whole shoot came out and the final images...they have a certain emotion to them.
